Originally from Fort Payne, Alabama, Naomi "Nib" McKinney has been playing professionally for 15 years.  She received her BS in Music Education from the University of Alabama in 2011, doubling in bassoon and violin.  Miss Nib is currently studying at the University of Georgia with Dr. Amy Pollard and plans to receive her Masters of Music in Bassoon Performance.

Miss Nib performs regularly throughout the southeast with such ensembles as Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra, Starkville Symphony Orchestra, Gadsden Symphony Orchestra, Rome Symphony Orchestra, Atlanta's Chamber Cartel, and many others.

Miss Nib started a flourishing private studio of young bassoonists in Birmingham, AL, but has now relocated to Athens, GA.  The Tenoroon Bassoon studio puts on yearly spring recitals as well as various events throughout the school year.

Aside from her passion as a teacher and performer, Miss Nib enjoys gardening, finding new coffees, and spending time with her "children," Alice & Elgar.
